Though there are some tables located distance away from the teppanyaki section. The A la carte menu was so so, nothing to shout about.
Pricing wise exaggerated I think. Fantastic experience, had a seat which is overlooking the Yarra river. My partner and I had a wonderful dining experience.
Food was unreal. Nice amd attentive staff. Highly recommended. Food was great. We particularly loved the entrees - the oysters were so melt in the mouth amazing, the scallops and beef tataki were delicious as well.
The fish on the assorted sushi was super fresh. The wagyu sukiyaki was refreshing. We didn't particularly like the alaskan black cod because it was super sweet, however the fish it self was so soft.
Ambiance and service were top notch. Excellent food in a lavish setting overlooking the Yarra river. Staff were first-rate. It's a little bit on the pricey side, so would reserve it for special occasions.
I have noticed a change. I have been to Kokos twice in the last two weeks. The food was lovely both times. And I think competitively priced.
The service however is just a little off. Nor do I like sitting in the segregated part of the restaurant for westerners. Delicious and fresh seafood.
Had the weekday lunch set. Good quality food and attentive service. We were seated by the window, thus having a scenic view outside.
Unfortunately our enjoyment was tarnished by the rather rude man at the adjacent table by the window. He made several phone calls during and in between his mouth work, with the speaker on, speaking loudly and switching in English and a foreign language.
Absolutely disgraceful and uncivilised. Lovely food as always! Been coming here quite regularly over the past two years and it's never really dissapointed.
Yesterday though was a bit of a different experience, we felt really rushed. I ordered the sit menu and the barramundi had just come out and no joke 2 minutes later the Wagyu steak comes out whilst I'm still eating the barramundi and it wasn't eaten till it went cold.
As for my partner her main meal didn't come till after I had eaten my barramundi and the Wagyu, so she ate alone. Service from Caroline brilliant, food unreal, nice Polish Riesling, expensive venue but fabulous for special occasion, namely my 68th.
Yes the four of us enjoyed the two hours dining and highly recommend. Cheers Joy Bernhard. Yes, try the menu of KOKO, But I think Koko are old restaurant.
The decoration, seems from late 20th century. Not like a new more ambience and decorative fine dining on 21st century.
Food was beautiful and authentically Japanese. Waiter was very nice and served our food for us. They forgot our drinks and Miso soup though.

Other diners were also very friendly. Not a busy day but well serviced. Staff good and food excellent even a bit expensive. The food was excellent as was the surroundings situated in South Bank.
If you like Japanese food I would highly recommend. Friendly and welcoming waitstaff and Chef who prepared our dishes. We enjoyed our dinner at Koko with delicious dishes prepared in front of us.
Thank you for your wonderful review! Koko has earned a strong reputation in providing an exceptional dining experience and of course producing delicious dishes, I am absolutely delighted to learn that they did not disappoint.
